The Long Story

Throughout my career I have worked as a medical secretary, then a legal assistant in a corporate legal firm. After leaving this role to start a family, I started a home based business in the UK, providing administrative support , virtual assistance and internet based services to various clients worldwide.

Over the years I have been trained in business skills, IT, legal administration and business coaching and have always strived to further my learning and career at every opportunity.  If I feel that a project is beyond my capabilities or understanding, I have a network of other business owners to whom I will confidently refer customers and, with the benefit of long term experience, I continually offer highly competent services, all of which I utilise within my own business.

In 2007, I moved to a larger office based in Tumby Bay, South Australia and opened Tumby Bay Business Centre Pty Ltd, which then adopted Time for Business upon formation of the company. The Business Centre developed at great speed over its two years in existence, continually increasing the services and equipment on offer to meet growing demand, but after two years, I decided to close the shop doors due to the difficulty in finding enough experienced and trained staff in a remote rural area. The Business Centre may well open again in the next couple of years in Tumby Bay, if I can ensure adequate staffing levels beforehand, but in the meantime I am enjoying the opportunity to ensure quality of services provided, rather than drowning in quantity!

During 2007, all staff at the Business Centre worked very hard on compiling a database of all businesses and organisations within Tumby Bay and surrounding districts. This database has been well maintained since its inception and through Time for Business newsletter, manages to keep in touch with most of the members who kindly allow us to include their details. In July 2008, Time for Business was awarded the contract for management of the District Council of Tumby Bay's district information websites and brochure (www.tumbybay.com and www.portneill.com) which service the local area. The websites are now continually growing, with increasing promotion and visitors and the most recent brochure was distributed SA wide at the end of July 2009.

Since relocating to a private office in January 2009, the workload is once again manageable and I'm happy that the promised return to assisting overseas and interstate customers has also been possible, as this had been on hold indefinitely whilst the Business Centre was so busy.

With an excellent delivery and collection service in place via Neindorf's Friendly Grocer in Tumby Bay, all customers based in Tumby Bay or surrounding areas can easily drop projects for Time for Business into the collection box available at the counter, or you can call or email to arrange for collection of your projects via the new mobile service.

Like most rural businesses, Time for Business and Tumby Bay Business Centre Pty Ltd sponsor and support local groups and clubs as often as possible. Please visit our sponsorship page to find out who Time for Business is providing sponsorship or support to. If you are looking for sponsorship or support for your own group, please use the contact form and provide as much detail as possible so that I can consider your organisation in the next six monthly sponsorship budget review.
